Want more pictures of the mentioned locations? My crazy family enjoying life in Peru? Take a look
around!
This picture is with a good family friend, Elsa, and her very old donkey in the farm town of
Corire. This donkey was alive and still old when my dad was serving his mission over 20 years
ago!
A couple years ago we took a beautiful hike through the jungle, bending through the valley below
Machu Picchu. These are what most of the cliffs looked like, and you can see the river running
next to them.
A baby alpaca all dressed up in traditional Peruvian gear for pictures, and wandering down the
street.
Here is La Plaza de Armas of Arequipa from a different angle, my family posing in front of it.
Lima has many impressive things to see, one of which is one of the largest water fountain parks
in the world, Parque de la Reserva. There are many beautifully shaped and colored fountains.
Here is my family standing in front of the color-changing display fountain.
This is a fancy hotel we stayed in when we were road tripping with some friends. This hotel was
in a desert oasis called Huacachina.
This is my family in the Plaza de Armas in Lima as we were in the process of moving to Peru. We
stayed in Lima for a few days before we moved to Arequipa. I was only 11 years old.
Me and some of my siblings observing a llama eat grass while visiting the lost city of Machu
Picchu. There are typically many llamas that hang out around the ruins and live there.
This is a market that we went to quite a bit and was a popular downtown grocery. All the meat,
fruit, and more was out in the open air, many butchers actually chopping right in the market
place. Everything was very fresh!
An outside view of the desert oasis Huacachina, with a nice pond in the middle. You can spend a
day out on the sand dunes and take a buggy and board and do some sandboarding!
